A List of Items on my art table...
a dried orchid. enough feathers to fill a pillow. little chards of metal. pliers. wire cutters. too many beads. a couple of vases full of random pens, colored pencils, markers and paintbrushes. two containers of black India ink. a couple of art books. digital camera. headphones. exotic coffee stains. glue. a desk lamp that gets too hot. a piece of coral from Hawaii that my grandmother gave me. a painting that a friend did back in art school. business cards that need to be replaced becuase they have my old phone number on them. an old plane ticket stub from China Airlines. good smelly candle. speakers that play too loud for the other people in my house. a big mess of papers collected from my pack-rat collage days.my sanity. a newspaper from Taiwan. a computer that never wants to work when I want it to.
I was born in Monterrey, Mexico and in my early childhood moved to the mountains of North Carolina. I recieved a BA in Studio Art at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, where I am currently residing, but have found most of my inspiration from traveling. I have been lucky enough to visit places such as Bali, Costa Rica, St. Lucia, and California. I find most my inspiration by getting out of the box....
